HAND PLANE BASICS

Do you need some help with a handplane that never seems to work right? Or have questions about what plane to use?
This is an entry-level class, geared towards woodworkers who are new to using hand tools, or want to get a better grasp of the fundamentals of using hand planes. The class will cover:
- The anatomy of the plane, various types and makes of planes
- Selecting the right plane for the job
- Sharpening the plane iron
- Setting up the plane
- Plane maintenance
- Plane restoration
- An introduction to some less-common planes (the router plane, the shoulder plane, the rabbet plane)
- Using planes to mill flat/square stock
- Using planes to shape wood
